For a general purpose one hook rig you can't go wrong with a pulley rig mate.Very rarely use anything else and if you want a pennel just stick another hook on.Would use 3-0 hooks this time of year.

That's the one mate,I'll post some pic's later of some I made the other week. The only difference I have is I use breakaway propa pulleys instead of the swivel to the mainline and the link to the sinker is a clip down type. The advantage of this rig is it pulls you're lead clear on the retrieve cutting down on tackle losses and quite often the fish will hook them selves on the take.

Another good rig is the up and over, not sure if that is the right name, thats what we used to call it,your bait trace swivel is just above your lead, the trace goes up and loops over a metal clip then back down your main rig body and your hook into the bait clip, good way of getting a long trace which will fish right on the bottom, out at distance, have not got any pics, but that and the pulley rig,two best rigs for the tyne i think :up22:

Here's the pics of the proppa pulley and clip link Lenney

As said the p/pulley replaces the swivel that attaches to you're main line.

Think it was Bob Collins who put me on to these, but they stop the kinking caused by the swivel.
