Rig making
« on: August 17, 2010, 02:27:47 pm »
Feeling the need to make some rigs for the shop i decided to make some,pennel pulleys and flappers,plus a few more different styles.

Any how tried silicon sliders instead of the usual crimps,haven't had a lot of trouble with crimps all the time i've used them to be honest but came across David goulds silicon sliders of wsf so thought i'd use them for the shop rigs.

Few diagrams below of the rigs.

Firstly this is how the silicon sliders are placed,some have different numbers placed but i feel three each side of the snood swivels/beads is more than adequate to  cope with most fishing situations.

Strong pennel hook snood are placed on the pennel pulley rigs,clear 30lb and 40lb hooks snoods,5/0 hd uptide;

Diagram of the pennel rig and 2 hook flapper;

 Been Using Silicone Tubing For A While Now Now Use It On All My Winter Rigs,, And It Can Be Used As A Bait Stop,,And It Works,,But The Cheap Tubing Is Crap,,Will Tear Open Just Ordered Some ,1.5   2.0 mm silicone, For The Winter....
Using It In Place Of Crimps Takes A Bit Of Getting Used To ,If You Have Never Used It Before, Best Use The 1.5 mm , All You Need To Do Is Cut,6mm Of Tube,, Push The Line Through The Centre  And Through The Centre Again,, Then Pull,Not To Hard,,.
You Will Notice The Line And Tube Will Fold Into A Knot, Which Can Be Moved Up And Down.
Something Else Using A Silicone Slider Is Like A Pulley Rig,, The Weight Of The Fish Will Bring The Slider Down Sending The Weight Up Clear Of The Snags,,,,,,,SORTED,,,,
                                 ,,,,,,,,,,BRI,,,,,,,,,,,
Thinking about this one,,
