Horden today
« on: August 08, 2010, 07:11:33 pm »
Had a few crab to use up so had a dodge down Horden beach,2 up 2 down, little bit surf on and little in the way of wind, had 2 rods one set up close and one at distance......Had two good bites, both dropped me loads of slack, but wound the slack in and failed to connect :bang:
Both bites where on the short range rod........A guy next to me hooked into something decent, right old bend on his rod,it slipped the hook about 10 yards out,he looked gutted, same guy got a mackeral on the bait couple of casts later,he wasnt sure if the fish that slipped the hook was a decent bass or the elusive thornback, maybe something else who knows :s
Might have a dodge down on the bigger afternoon tides this week see how it goes :up22:

Will do Bri :up22:...would not call it a downer mate, enjoyed the afternoon, there were fish there, which gave me confidence, but was not to be.......not got me head around this summer fishing yet ;).......top of the tide about 40 yards out,the gulls went mad, must of been 500 gulls decended on one patch of water, making a right racket, dont know if they were sprat or something bigger.
pm me your number again mate ;)
