whitburn 7.8.10
« on: August 07, 2010, 03:01:59 pm »
6 boats left the beach this morning,1 from the marina,6.30 start, loads of small codling caught in between 35-40cm all returned, every boat the same near enough all of them reporting plenty of small stuff,  makerel were a bit further out than normal around the 2 mile mark, plenty of them being caught,i think every boat had some, some boats a lot more than others, match won again by myself with a cod of 7lb15oz gutted,i also had 2 more arond the 3lb mark, 2nd place went to a ling of 5lb 8oz,,nearly every boat had cod on it today and the amount of small codling caught can only bode well for the winter [which is not that far away now lads] will see if i can get some photos of today later on,,i forgot my camera this morning but 1 of the lads took some,,cheers lads Davy..

Aye well done Dave, I've nearly forgiven you for waving that ffn fish at us so early into the comp lol

Link to Pic of Daves fish

The sheer amount of small (just size) codling we had wasn't even funny, loads of double shots of them, good job I couldn't be chewed filleting them because I think Toybota alone could have knackered the UK fish quota lol.

Oh while I remember, Dave did you see the Basking Shark? I didn't see the fish just a bit wake after John Sinclaire and Bob shouted over at us it was passing near-ish our boat.

I'm not sure I'd have been allowed to weigh it in anyway lol
