hard back crabs
« on: August 01, 2010, 08:22:26 pm »
just read the boating results and noticed that hard back crabs have been found inside the cods, question is how does the cod know the differance between a hard back and a peeling crab as the hard back doesnt leave a scent trial of any sort..iv heard of people fishing hardback crabs but how do you go about it,(keeping it on the hook and so forth )
of all the things iv lost,
only my mind needs to be found.

we had this conversation today Bri,Cod will eat out in front of them as there swimming about, but with peeler worm etc you have a lot more scent which will attract fish to your bait, thats my theory :up22:

What's the best hook for using hard back crab as bait, personlly I would of thought something like a circle or semi would be the best.No experience of fishing with hard backs open to suggestions Lad's, an yes I know I feed enough of them.
