owt in the boat today

launched the boat 7.30am today and boy the sea was as flat as a witches and not a breath of wind and the sun out to decided to fish the ground close in we had mackeral from the of and most important the water was gin clear i managed 2 coddies from the first couple of drifts there was 2 local boats out today had a bit crack with them and was told fishing was slow. well of we went to a fresh mark me and the lads started catching a few more fish as well as loads of mackeral witch can be a pain as you carnt get to the  bottom for them i managed 9 cod today best 2 8lb 3oz and 6lb 10oz but i was outdone by one of the lads what a monster of a ling weight on the boat 17lb 8oz thats some fish of the ground and the lads biggest fish ever i caught the most cod i had 9 fish. total cod on the boat 23 cod 1 mother ling 5 scotchies and mackeral was a great day to be on the water today hope this weather lasts lads.

good days fishing skelly with some nice fish,,was going to go out this morning but had to go to work 1st thing,,by the time we got finished the sea had a good bit chop on so decided to give it a miss.hope it calms down for tomorrow.

hi chris we fished 1/2 to3/4 of a mile of all the ground close in was well coverd wi pots dans all over dont like losing gear on the ropes. parrot was the best day that i have had weather wise on friday for a few year shame you did not get out with your boat.
