Greater Forkbeard
« on: July 31, 2012, 01:59:37 pm »
Hi,
My son Morgan fished the Rat house yesterday and caught what turned out to be a very rare fish called a Greater Forkbeard. I'd never heard of one, and neither did a lot of very experienced anglers.
I was advised to take it to Andy Rutherfords to get identified and weighed. It weighed exactly 3lb, and i've been told to put it forward to the British Record Fishing Committee, where it could prove to be a british record. So i've been in touch with the BRFC and they're sending me out the paperwork to fill in.  So fingers crossed.  :)

Aye Eddie, he's over the moon mate, as i am for him. Sam Harris got in touch to say he wants to come to our house to interview Morgan for the angling show he does on BBC Radio Newcastle. He's going to take pictures for the TotalSeaFishing magazine. Absolutely unbelievable mate. :)

Sent photos and filled forms in and sent off mate. Not sure how long it takes to make a decision.  It can take quite a while by all accounts. Just have to sit back and wait.  whistle

Cant see why it shouldnt be accepted Ed,theres photograpic evidence and the weight was verified by Andy Rutherford - a reputable tackle shop owner, what more could they ask for?

Can you imagine the young lad when he goes back to school....what did you do during the holidays?
Not much just broke a British angling record!!...Ha Ha
