out at last wi the boat friday 27/7
« on: July 29, 2012, 09:42:48 pm »
after a long wait for a break in this dam summer weather got out on friday an early start 2 left home at 5am to get to my northumberland fishing grounds for 6am to be greeted with flats sea and no wind  roll1. so off we went to a mark 3/4 mile off  me mate got a nice cod 11lb 8ozs weighed on the boat we fished for another 20 mins or so nowt so in my wisdom because of the nice weather decided to fish some wrecks on the 6 mile mark what a wast of time 5 wrecks later 1 small ling and a large whitie all to show for it 3 hours wasted . went back on the ground inshore  me and the lads picked up a few coddies and another ling as well as mackeral which we used for bait as the water is still not totaly clear yet one of the lads had 9 cod  including the 11lb also had an 8lb,7lb,5 1/2 in his catch lucky git i had 6 cod my biggest  was 5lb and the outher crew mate had had a 7lb 10oz ling of the ground.not loads of fish on the ground today but they were a good size.but saying that the wind got up after dinner and spoiled the drift all in all was great to be out again.
