Sunday at Roker Pier
« on: January 30, 2011, 07:23:09 pm »
After another fishless trip to roker pier on friday night(although I had heard a 5LBer had been caught next to the bunker),I decided to use up the bait that the fish didnt eat on another trip today to Roker pier once again.I have seldom seen as many anglers on the pier during a winter session, and as I walked along asking everyone if they'd had any luck I knew i was in for a long day,as everyone replied with the same answer....NOT EVEN A BITE MATE!.I arrived at 10.00am and fished(if you can call it that) until 2.30pm,and guess what not a bite. All the baits were coming back in untouched .Dejected i walked off the pier to see the same blokes still fishing with no luck apart from one guy who had 2 flounders from just behind the breakers. This venue is looking a bit bleak for the Festival next week unless theres a stir up next week.

A good report, just a shame that no cod turned up for you.
Anyone can fish......It's Catching them that's the hard part.

2011 SPECIES CAUGHT:  Coalie x3(biggest 33.5cm), Rockling x6, Blenny x1, Flounder x1, Whiting x1

was that on the boat dave, agree with you mate the fish are there and not far off shore, just need the bigger tides or a good sea to push them in closer
