HORNSEA SAC CLUB MATCH REPORT
SUNDAY 23rd JANUARY 2011

Hornsea SAC?s 9th match of the Winter Season was fished on Sunday 23rd January 2011. Fishing from low water to high (1pm-7pm) on a 6.3Metre tide with a Northerly wind, it was always going to be a tough match.
The South Holderness beaches had produced good numbers of Codling during the week but as the making tided got bigger the fishing became worse.
Most club anglers however did head Southward and whilst the winning weights came from this area the fish were caught either early on or at full water when the tidal push was at its least.
Match winner Rob Quinn had 2 Out Newton Cod early on for a total weight of 4.32Kg, the best fish of 2.94Kg meant he won both categories of biggest bag and best fish of the day and the Mally Wright Cod Catcher Cup. Distance caster Scott Field also bagged a pair of Cod from Out Newton for 3.34Kg just beating Mark Colman?s 12 Flats for 3.04Kg. Tony Thompsons?s last minute Cod from Rectory of 1.14Kg earned Fourth place.
Of the Juniors only two weighed in and Bryan and Tony Usher drew and shared the L A Cornice Sheild.
