Whitburn Beach 02/01/11(topic has pictures)

Me and Sam decided to fish Whitburn beach tonight (after getting to the Groin at Shields to find there wasnt enough water there to cast and not hit dry land).

We set up and straight away the bites started! Some so violent that the rods were nearly being pulled out of the stand. So after this we opted to just hold our rods in our hands to detect bites rather than risk damage.

I was first into fish, after feeling something playing with my bait then thump, thump followed by about 20 yards of slack line I struck! After 30 minutes and much pumping and winding later the fish had no choice but to succumb to my superior angling techniques (well and truly smashed its pastie). I landed a silver bar of about 8 pound.



Next into the fish was Sam who landed a rather mediocre pollack of about 5 pound but still gave a good show for itself.



After this we decided to call it a night as i have Coronation street to watch on Sky plus and did'nt want to fall behind to many episodes.






















No fish were harmed in the making of this report.
