You are right mate. Catching is a bonus but it would have been nice for us to at least have had some good bites to get the adrenaline flowing. I must add the carck was good and it took ya mind of the dire fishing situation.
Anyone can fish......It's Catching them that's the hard part.

2011 SPECIES CAUGHT:  Coalie x3(biggest 33.5cm), Rockling x6, Blenny x1, Flounder x1, Whiting x1

Don't think there's enough boats netting now to completly net an area off.Late 70's/80's when anyone who was afloat had nets in was a different matter but fish still got thro.

The nets are full of fish but its got nowt to do with them just nee fish coming in wounder why or aye there in the nets  :YHMAN: i am not blaming  the nets but it doesn't help if there is nets in the water and the fish are not going to swim round them.

They're getting fish in the nets cos the nets are where the fish are a mile or two offshore.

And the nets will stop them from coming in so the nets will play apart in the fishing been poor. unless they jump over the nets.  :YHMAN:

I know the nets dont stop all the fish and i am not blaming the nets for the poor fishing but if there's nets in the water it doesn't help the matter.

If a beach is netted off are ya going to fish it NO ya not.

How do you tell it's netted off if they're working a mile out, nobody works close in if the fish are feeding  in water where the gear will be safe.

Like i say if its netted off it plays a part in the fishing been poor.

Doesn't really make a diff if its a mile or close in it still stops most of the fish coming in.

So if you knew there was a beach netted off you would still fish it mmmm that answers the
question why you cant catch cod.  :TNGGGY: :TNGGGY: :TNGGGY: :TNGGGY: :TNGGGY:

I'm in some very good company at the moment as far as catching cod goes :lol2: :lol2: but the the nets or lines will be out there all the time mate it's they're living and probably have been closer in when plenty of cod were getting caught from the shore.
