New Rig Set Up

Ive been having a few thoughts on rigs and the way we use them and what benefits we are looking for. I have come up with this rig which uses some traits of the pulley rig but also benefits of being able to Run like a coarse fishing Running Rig.
When the fish takes the bait it acts like a running rig til the bead stops hit the end main trace swivel.Then the weight/lead is lifted and it becomes a pulley rig.

I have made a couple of these up and have done some dummy runs with them in the garden with a frozen macci and it seems to work well with what looks like good bite detection.

Ive tried to resize it tony but i can't get it too work

get a paper clip and straighten it then wind it round another one a few times , pull ff and turn a hook on one end so it looks like a spring with a hook , wind shock leader through it so it runs up and down and can slide on shockleader tnen you can hook bait to it like a bait clip and it will not flop around during cast

I have a bait clip on the diagram i drew on paper, cudn't put it on the diagram i attempted on windows paint.

I don't know how fast they swim trev mate but it was easier to catch than a cod :cm1: :cm1: :cm1:

Initial simulated trials have had good results, using a ball of bread over the snood knot without using a hook and the assistance of little winged flying things.

Good bite detection.
Good running and pulley action.
Good weight lift and retrievel.

btw its known as a running ledger in coarse fishing used to good effect for catching wise old fish that have seen too many other rigs and drop a bait if they feel any pull , also safety rig as when a fish takes off on a run and the lead catches the line line running through it can snap and drop the lead so the fish is not trapped

Its not a full running ledger Baz.... as i have the weight clip running on an 18 inch trace so its sort of a semi running pulley clip up rig.

I have chris mate......NO HOOKS.....tied large triple knot in the end of snood and squashed bread ball over the knot. Rod was set up on tripod and 'CAST OUT' with gripper just caught into the lawn and shockleader tight as if in the sea.15 mins later i had a lovely bite, rod tip knocked slightly as the spuggy nibbled the bread,then proper knock as it took the bread and tried to walk off with it. 18" running trace works well and as my friendly little fella tried to fly off with the bread, the pulley action cut in and gripper was dislodged from the lawn. A SMALL SUCCESS....
