Routhouse Revisited

Decided to give the rathouse a try again,so me and my son set off to catch a couple of hours of the rising tide,so arrived at about 5.00am.Unusually when casting out the lines ran down river against the incoming tide,I can only assume that with the thaw the extra fresh water coming down the river was too strong for the tide.Anyhow after about 3 hours and not a fish to be seen I managed to connect with a flounder of about 1.5lbs so did not have the usual blank day.Left the rathouse to try the beach at roker with no succes at all, although Jonny,my son did manage to put a few yards on to his cast with a lot of practise on the beach .So the morning wasn't totally wasted.
Anyone having any luck anywhere else as it seems for December results are really poor from all of the region.
