I think the trawlers and jim seen a boat shooting its nets that could be the answer to where all the cod has gone.

Unlucky marra i am sure you will get amonst the cod soon.

Think it's more to do with a glut of food offshore, remember one time in the early eighties the cod sat offshore between 10mile and twenty for about a month loads of sprat and sandeels in them when gutted. The cold weather will have moved the sandeels out we need a right blow up to slit them up then the cod might move back in.IMO

Eddie if you look back over the last week or more we've had sea's and conditions that should of produced fish but very little is being caught even on inshore boats, what's getting caught on the boats is full of sandeels which wont be near the beach's because of the temperature they will be in deeper water so the fish will go for the easiest meal. When the eel's get dispersed then the cod will come back to the shore to feed.

The thing is Trev the waters not big enough to scatter the eel's to deeper water the last big sea was massive so that would of scattered the eels and the cod move in.

The fish i got on Wednesday had nowt in its gut.

They are there its just hard work finding them.

That's the problem we have eddie....'finding them'.....I have been reading reports on other sites and it seems to be the same all the way up the northeast coast, not many fish being caught at all over the last week or so.
