Yeah it was Halfords, didn't want to spend anymore money on the taxi fare so opted for the nearest place. Oh well it drives now and better still it jumps into life again, like the good ol' days ;)

I'd hate to think what they'd charge for such a large lump in your Discovery. The 9-3 is only a 1.9 diesel but even the price for it's battery was a shock, never realised they were so expensive.

Halfords are shocking for there prices. If i had of known where you were i may have been able to give you some pointers at which accessory shops to use.

After the mess on with the battery on Monday I now find myself in a worse situation.

Tuesday night coming back from Kirk Merrington, using the Eldon road I was confronted by a 4x4 type vehicle in the middle of the road. It is a country road but ample room for two buses. Well he wasn't moving from the middle of the road and I had to swerve to avoid a head-on crash. Luckily I was able to use a nice thick, hard and immovable wall to slow my car to an absolute crunching stop. I was certainly expecting the airbag to go off and had shut my eyes preparing for the thump. I hit the corner of the wall at the opening of a track to the house and the car was pretty much wrecked on the left side at the front.

Did the guy stop, did he 'ell, so I was left to pick up the broken bits of my car, pop them in the car and continue on my way. Driving with light just from the right side, a stinking headache and a wounded pride. I limped to my last call of the night, then home.

Some TLC from Kay and off to bed at 10pm.

Now I'm two days into not having a car as the garage is taking its time assessing the damage (just write the flippin thing off). Thankfully it was the 206 and not the Saab or my balls would be dangling from the chimney.

All I can think about now is getting sometime with my rod (fishing type) and blasting some rag into the wide yonder.

Stephen

The road is national speed limit (60) and I was going at the most 40mph, he was probably hitting 60 plus. Snowy and icy conditions still so rather stupid to be going any faster than 50 for sure.

Not a chance to get anything from his car as all I saw and in this order, bright lights, wall.  wtf
