THE PROM
« on: November 27, 2010, 09:32:21 pm »
THE PROM - what do you think has the prom been spoilt by big rocks been put in front of wall for sea defence protection.do you think the prom would still be there if boulders were,nt there.

seaham hall beach dos,nt have the rocks in front .
another quest what hook snood strengths do you use here as it has to knock the stuffing out of your trace when reeling a fish in and it getting knocked about in the swells and washed about in rocks in front.
one of the reasons i dont fish this mark often.

The hall and the prom are different John the water hit the prom all the time the hall it only hits
the wall on big sea's and big tide.

The rocks do spoil the fish down the prom and the hook snood i use 25/30lb line.
My blog feel free to take a look.

yes but the water must hit the hall wall prom i wunder why the water does not reach the wall like hendon ,you would think the rough weather would wash sand out so water came further in if you know what i mean.

think a pulley rig is a must down there with 6olb hook lgths

50LBhook lengths i use john, get very little damage to traces down there, not that i fish there often, there is places to fish to avoid the rocks down there,to be honest had more problems losing gear down the hall

using paternoster rigs i think the heavy hook lgth ie as mentioned by chris can put fish off, i dont know realy why i tend to think they can feel it when picking the bait up.

but using a pulley rig heavy hook lgths dos,nt bother me-anybody else on the same lines

Since the rock armour as been put in place its ruined hendon especially getting big fish out , i know there is still the odd idiot who will risk there lives and climb down to win a comp and get there name in the paper, imho the armour wasnt really needed there was a bit wear on the front of the wall , which would of been better of being repaired in another way, snood 40 pound amnesia keep an eye on shocky and trace gets hammered of the rock armour

was the prom wall getting badly damaged before the rocks were put in front. they put rocks in front of prom in newbiggen bay as well that spoilt a hell of a shot.

40lb amnesia tony i am not happy unless i use 30lb on paternoster rig.

The front of the prom was showing signs of wear, but a bit more concrete on the front would of done the job, whats wrong with 40 poud amnesia , catches well for me
