River and beach
« on: November 25, 2010, 09:31:50 pm »
Had the day off today with the weather,so phoned eddie and arranged a session, started off at the cormorant in the wear, fish out for me second cast and a couple of bites for both of us then it went quiet, managed one more fish second last cast.................decided to move to the beach at Latimers garage for high water and the ebb.....arrived there just before dark, canny sea on so looked promising...............The sky went black and it bleached it down with very heavy snow, attrocious conditions, few shy bites but no codling.......decided to call it a day earlier than anticipated with the roads covered by snow............Took us approx 90 minutes to get out of the fulwell area, every road was thick black ice and cars buses were  spinning around on the ice as rigid vehicles do unlike trucks which are in two parts and therefore it would be called jackknifed (many thanks to wolfy dave who was watching ice road truckers last nightand took the time to point this out) :YHMAN:didnt matter which road we turned up it was blocked......finally managed to get eddie home and i managed to get home to Stanley 2 and a half hours after we packed in fishing..............enjoyed the session though, had a right laugh as always.....ed will put pics of fishies up tomorrow :up22:

Glad to hear you's got a few out, weather was pretty grim after dark o'clock.I wasn't too bad could get me back to it but far to much sea on for the shallow beaches.Sounds like an entertaining drive home Chris. :laugh20: :laugh20:

A cracking report mate just a shame about the weather cutting the session short.  But could you explain 2 me how a bus which is a rigid vehicle and not articulated, could be jack knifed  :cm1: :cm1: :cm1: :cm1:thats just as bad as eddie's string wind  :cm1: :cm1:
Anyone can fish......It's Catching them that's the hard part.

2011 SPECIES CAUGHT:  Coalie x3(biggest 33.5cm), Rockling x6, Blenny x1, Flounder x1, Whiting x1

I'm off to have a look at the swell at the hall to see whether it is fishable for later on
