Well gents here goes.

I arrived at the Hall about 3.15,had sed i would meet up with Chris but i could not see him anywhere. Set up on the south end of the beach but the words going through my head were "i must be fooking mad". It was pizzing down and the swell was at about 8-10ft.Managed to cast out but the weed was horendous and i lost 3 lots of gear including shockleaders.
Phoned Chris to see where he was,he was fishing north end of beach so i packed up and decided to join in.
Got set up and loaded the hooks with lots of rag coz i was wanting a monster.6oz grippers were managing to hold bottom ok but there was a large swell and it was raining and the wind was in ya face.Chris had a couple of good knocks but nothing was returned to shore. On my 3rd cast i had a lovely knock which i managed to hook into and bring to shore, A lovely 3lb cod. This was safely KEPT to be used at a later date with some CHIPS :cm1: Stayed down til 6.30 and i had a small whiting and a rockling to go with the cod. These were returned to the water.
Just as i was leaving Chris struck into a corker of a knock but unfortunately as he started to reel in, the 1.5lb flyfishing leader line he was using gave way and the damn thing got away.

There were several fishing the north end and several cod were taken a couple of which were round the 5lb mark.
A canny couple of hours fishing even though the weather was naff.
Anyone can fish......It's Catching them that's the hard part.

2011 SPECIES CAUGHT:  Coalie x3(biggest 33.5cm), Rockling x6, Blenny x1, Flounder x1, Whiting x1

Husky going nowhere near it mate, its for the pan....

I don't blame ya Chris mate, weather wasn't the best and you had to be 1 hell of a caster to get over the whitehorses. Trying to upload pic of fishie.
