Roker Pier
« on: November 21, 2010, 08:02:37 pm »
Has anyone heard the rumours about Roker Pier being closed for the next eight months?
Past couple of weeks been looking forward to damping a line on the old faithful but its been closed even though the sea has been reasonably flat.Be a bit disappointing if the rumour is true especially with the Sunderland angling festival in a couple of weeks time! ;)

Seems to be more and more marks becoming less accessable in the winter, docks and south pier a no go,Roker gets closed for the winter after a couple of big seas ......The old pier is going to be fenced off ,cant see that doing out as you can walk onto the ramp at low

It will not be long before they fence the ratty off as well with all the nobs that get down there.

I know they are working on the light house but why close the pier just fence off where they are
working. if they are oing to close the pier it should be though the summer lol.

Have heard that the old pier is being fenced off because kids had lit a fire next to the power supply box which knock out the power to the beacon.

Why is the few dickheads who spoil it for decent blokes who just want to spend a couple of hours fishing after a hard weeks graft????

The fires are started after they go down for a night time session wearing tracksuitbottoms and a hoodie, after 5 minutes they realise it is cold so start to burn anything around them..........dickheads

This always seems to happen. The fools spoil it for the decent blokes. If they are going to fence it off, Why don't they allow the fishermen to have a key so they can still fish but it also keeps the riff raff off.
Anyone can fish......It's Catching them that's the hard part.

2011 SPECIES CAUGHT:  Coalie x3(biggest 33.5cm), Rockling x6, Blenny x1, Flounder x1, Whiting x1

All i can say is ya better get used to it the next spots will be the ratty and then the walkway. cos if they cant get on there they will go somewhere else so it will just keep going round in a big circle.

These poeple are just a bunch of ass holes.  :MDDDSSS: :MDDDSSS: :MDDDSSS:
