out today

went out today at 2pm to fish at the mudhole,,got there and someone else had beaten me to it so i ended up fishing the moorings in front of the clubhouse [whitburn],,  bait used was rag,,lug,,mussell and squid,,no codling caught at all when i was there just billets,,loads of them,,some of them a decent size,,but the odd 1 or 2 were that small i dont know how they got on the hook,,got bothered a bit by weed but it wasn"t that bad,,still a bit of a sea on..suprised there wasn"t any codling showing but they might come on after dark,,got all the bait used up and was back in the house at 6.15pm,,,,,,,,,,,,,had a visit off eddie and mrs.eddie they were out walking the dog,,thats me till wednesday now till the club match..

Shame there was nee cod about but like ya say bet it fish's well tonight over low.

Next time i will be out is Wednesday.

Unlucky on the cod Davy, they've gone into hiding down here aswell.Fished Saltburn 3 til 7 none showed after dark but was kept busy with some decent flatties pity blackbacks taste like sh#te.Talking to some lad's who fished the Whitby open they reckon the cod was scarce down there aswell.

Dave when ya were fishing down there did ya see any blue light or owt like that cos reading on other sites they say there was a body was up on seaburn beach with waders on and a coat hope its not true cos there was a few fisherman die last year lets hope its not the same this year.

yes m8,,me and the lad next to me were asked by the rescue lads if we had seen anybody called joe with a dark suit on,,we said we hadn"t,, as they got to the old pipe they stopped and sent for some more lads with a stretcher,he was found just behind the pipe not 100yds from us,,thought it was just an exercise at first,,thoughts are with his family,,so sad..
