Hall Beach Last Night
« on: November 13, 2010, 09:28:26 am »
Well gents, me and keith(ellis995) got to seaham about 5.30,set up and got lines in the water vey quickly. There were already several down fishing and while setting up watched an old bloke pulling them in 2 at a time on mackerel strip. After about 20 mins keith got a good knock but nothing was returned. Then i got a few knocks and then a good 1. A yting was retrieved from the sea, hust on size but very thin so it was safely returned to the sea. No sooner had keith baited up and set his bait seaward his rod went crackers and he brought in another yting, this time it was a very good fish just on 39cm,this was kept. We continued to fish and watched as the hall filled up angler after angler.
Continued to fish till 9.45 and keith missed a couple of fish but did bring in another lovely yting same size as his first. I ended up with 3 yting, all safely returned and a coalie safely returned.Bait of the night was anything with a maccie tip.

Another cracking session and my luck continues and nice to see keith get a couple and cancel out his blank from last week.
Anyone can fish......It's Catching them that's the hard part.

2011 SPECIES CAUGHT:  Coalie x3(biggest 33.5cm), Rockling x6, Blenny x1, Flounder x1, Whiting x1

The pier was empty mate, there were no lights showing at all. There was quite a few down the beach though. Water was flat and fairly clear, not alot of colour in it so the cod will be further out so you may have to use lob it as far as you can tactics. I lost 3 lots of gear last night on a beach  :cm1:. I couldn't get the new grippers to break loose from the sand so i'm gonna have to slacken them off slightly me thinks.
