Saltburn pier tonight 10th Nov
« on: November 10, 2010, 09:42:33 pm »
Arrived at the pier 3pm to miss the crowd only to find the end chocka (not the biggest pier in the world) so set up about 10 yds back and started off on snakeys to see if I could temp a bass.Changed to the cod bait once a bit more water was there, joined by Jim about 4 he set up a couple of yards from me cast in put his hat on and before he could pick his jacket up had a cod on around the 2lb mark, this was followed by a billet around a 1-1/2,another cod and a big whiting. What bait was he using, the same as me and casting about the same distance.
It went quiet for a spell over h/w then a few cod where being brought in around the 2lb mark, you guessed it Jim had another. So about 8- 30 I said this is me last chuck to which jims rod buckles and he has one on which really wants to get under the pier legs.He did well to keep it out and we hand balled a nice 5-!/2 pounder up.
My question is what the F##k have I done to the Cod God
