shields pier ruble and first gate basking shark

fished over ruble got a few cod crab and rag biggest lb3/4 canny night fished from 6.30pm till 11pm had 2 small lobsters 2 dabs size as well then move down to first gate as to many rocks showing and had 5 undersize cod had 2 cod to take home some cracking nocks over ruble cant wait to get down agian and thats right there was a basking shark in the harbor a few of the anglers say it was 16ft it bumped in to the pier steps l only seen its fin from a distance  :up:

what gear you going to use to try for it ? i think you may need some 30 lb line as a minimum
and a float rig with an 18 hook with shrimp on

Its good to know the fish are still showing,sure there's been a few sightings of basking from
from the boat lads past few summers? Must of been good to see it up that close,thanks
for the report Jim and well done on what sounds was a canny evenings fishing.

sounds like a canny night  bud well done ,as for rigs for the shark ,tie a pair of skates to ya feet ,and get off the pier sharpest.< whistle whistle
