under 18s competition in the wear
« on: August 19, 2012, 07:55:32 pm »
Myself,Eddie and Arran headed up to the Golden lion for this event, just Arran fishing as me and Ed are to old...........Pretty dire conditions today, big tides and a lot of debris floating about in the water,10 anglers fished this which i thought was a pretty poor response from the north east, given the amount of young anglers up here.......Fishing was quite slow with just the odd snotty eel and small flounder coming in on the flood,as the tide eased the fish came on the feed and all of a sudden the anglers taking part who had been frustrated most of the day came to life,it was a very close run match till the end with the top 3 all around the 100cm mark,Full results to follow soon and some pics.........Must say Big well done to all of the young anglers who braved the downpours and difficult conditions, also hats off to the organisers and the stewards for a very well ran competition.........Would like to add that everyone who took part walked away with fishing tackle prizes and a voucher donated by Andy Rutherford.........And cheers to Eddie for the lift :up22:

Arran

Jordan his mate.

the winner lad in the white hoody had 6 fish for 174 cm ,2nd lad in black and red smock 5 fish for 123cm and 3rd lass in gray hood was 4 for 109cm

Big well done to all who took part, not the best of weather to fish in must have been a load of rain water coming down the river Chris.

it was ok at low water trev, into the flood it was bad,all the **** which had went down on the previous tides was coming back up,very narrow part of the river only 30yds across, hence the tide rip...still canny day,pub very close as well :YHMAN:

Aye it was a canny day a good laugh as well like ya say the rain was a pain but it was canny dry inside that pub Chris.  :laugh20: :laugh20:

there was a few good young anglers up there today i think young mason has an invite to the trails for the young england team.

Well done all it was hard going but they stuck it out and when the fish started to bite ya could see the competitave side come of the young, uns.
