summer fishing

Well with the cod season nearly done with have any of yous lads got plans for summer fishing.

Me i am going to try for a few hounds and maybe rays along with lure fishing along shields
going to hit derwent for the trout and try a bit fly fishing.

 think i will as usual fish filey brig Got to get a cod soon. then thornwick bay, its the venue where you can get the cod, and fish with a lure for bass, or mackeral . Then there is the holderness coast, the hounds ,, tope  and thornbacks,, and bass,,,

Going to try the barrier on Roker with a 13ft bamboo rod n centre pin reel a few floats and target the Pollock and Wrasse. Should be a laugh  :)

That takes me back to the 1959 fishing with a hand line and was fishing up your way. In them days we used a shooting stick a 6,,8 ft bamboo cane to get the bait out,  you young ones wont know how to fish like that, in them days fishing was not a sport,, it was food.
To day it,s a hobby when us anglers go out to get the better,,biggest fish. nothing wrong with that, but as me at 64 years old ,,stop laugthing lads,,I do know what im talking about.
Fishing to me is a break from the daily routine of life,,  I LIKE IT, AND DONT  WANT TO STOP                                          ,,Bri,,                                 ,
