Little ones first fishing trip
« on: September 08, 2012, 05:02:03 pm »
Took my two girls Jess and Charlotte for there first trip fishing on rRoker pier,to say they were a little excited would be a bit of an understatement.

Fished at the barrier with two floats using ragworm for bait, fishing the last couple of hours of the ebb.
Set Jess's rod up first and cast it and told her to watch for the float going under the water,no sooner had i turned my back she shouted 'My floats gone Dad'...looked round and sure enough it had,she reeled in her first ever fish a small coaley.

Cast Charlottes rod out and exactly the same happened, another coaley for Charlotte

They both managed 4 small coalies each and a better one each, both about a pound, must say i had to give them a hand reeling the bigger ones in as they couldnt budge them.

Jess Sitting in a trance watching for the float going down

Canny few hours out and the bairns really enjoyed it and the ice cream they got coming off the pier courtesey of Roker Ron.They want to go back down again tomorrow :D
