Float fishing setup Diagram and info

Float setup

Predominantly used throughout the summer months for mackerel,pollack,coalfish and garfish,its a method well used to great effective,the stop knot allows you to fish at different depths,sometimes as deep as 25ft for pollack fishing,the drilled bullet acts as your weight depending on which float you are using at the time you may use a 2oz drilled bullet on your setup,the beads act as running beads and help protect your snood/swivel knots throughout casting,the snood should always be less than your actual mainline(below is a diagram showing an example of this very setup).

What you will require to make a float setup;

3 8mm running beads(or rubber stopper beads)
2oz drilled bullet(depending on size of float used)
Aberdean hook
Stop knot material(line i find thick line 60lb best or a simple elastic band)
size 4 rolling swivel for snood
snood materia(12lb maxima or clear 15lb sunset amnesia)

Step by step

Firstly tie on your stop knot after this  slide on an 8mm running bead next your float then another 8mm bead,then the drilled bullet,another 8mm bead and after this your size 4 rolling swivel then use a clinch knot to tie your snood and use the same knot for tying your hook on,optional but can be effective when fishing for pollack over kelp and rock tie a few knots in your snood to lessen the line saves you from loosing your whole setup if you get snagged,i mainly do this if fishing higher snood line say something like 20lb snood however as a general rule of thumb use lesser snood line than actually what mainline your using in theory you should loose your hook if you do this however sometimes it does not always work out this way. Also referring to the stop knot i find elastic band stop knots don't last long and you may repeatedly be tying on another elastic band several times throughout a session best option in my opinion is to use a high breaking strain line(50lb-60lb) for the stop knot.
