Roker Pier last night
« on: January 28, 2011, 12:47:12 pm »
Well me and Keith(ellis995) joined the rest of the gang on the drum end of the pier for a few hours fishing. We arrived there about 4.30 and there was several blokes fishing already.Set up and cast out and then sat and waited for my cod to jump on my hook. I mentioned how embarrassing would it be to be fishing in all that deep water and end up with a Rocking.
Well true to form, i didn't let the side down and second cast i got a small knock and in it came and yes you have guessed it.....A beautiful speciman of a Rocking  :AWW:
Rebaited up and back out it went, about 30 minutes later i got a ggod bite and brought in a lovely flounder at 1lb 1oz. Keith managed a little yting about 30 minutes later which he had managed to foul hook.
Fished til 10.45 and i didn't manage to catch anything else. The lads had a flounder,a dab,a whiting and 1 cod. The blokes just round the drum to the northside of it had several cod out, a few of which were a good size.
All in all a very enjoyable evening with a good bunch of lads and good banter. Well done to all that caught fish last night and better luck next time to those who didn't.
Anyone can fish......It's Catching them that's the hard part.

2011 SPECIES CAUGHT:  Coalie x3(biggest 33.5cm), Rockling x6, Blenny x1, Flounder x1, Whiting x1
