It does prove a good point tho Trev, this challenge, that us blokes upnorth really know how to handle their rods better and the more times you have your rod out the more satisfaction you get.Women have been right all along, men up north are better. :YHMAN: :YHMAN: :YHMAN:
Anyone can fish......It's Catching them that's the hard part.

2011 SPECIES CAUGHT:  Coalie x3(biggest 33.5cm), Rockling x6, Blenny x1, Flounder x1, Whiting x1

Its a cod challenge ongoing throughout the winter Coddy, anyfish caught by members in the ATNE cod challenge get added to the total,at the minute we are doing well, but some decent anglers on the sea fisherman forum and they are widespread all around the uk,canny lads and lasses and good craic...theres a link on related sites....might add they kicked our butts bigtime on a similar challenge for species in the summer

Yip we coulld have done with some help during the species challenge,we seemed to start ok then it dried up.Mind  the welsh and south coast lads have a big advantage with fish down there we rarely see up this way.

those species was just from the north east  alone  but still a lot of time and money and travelling  spent targeting them

2 new species was the highlight of 2010  dragonet and  tadpole fish

also a cracking pb wrasse estimated 5lb

done very well mate never seen any of those caught, heard of a tadpole fish off roker a few year back, its hard to believe what fish are out there swimming off our coastline yet seldom get caught, same with the thornbacks and dogfish which are getting caught more frequent year on year
