Think it's more to do with a glut of food offshore,remember one time in the early eighties the cod sat offshore between 10mile and twenty for about a month loads of sprat and sandeels in them when gutted.The cold weather will have moved the sandeels out we need a right blow up to slit them up then the cod might move back in.IMO
I'm not a complete idiot there's bits missing
