When I was blanking for the few times I went out, I started to think it could be the way I had my rigs setup or the bait presented on the hooks. I guess this is a familiar story of lacking confidence in your knowledge. It is certainly a great feeling when you feel that bite and see the fish on its way to you. I don't know about anyone else but I definitely muffled a 'Get in there you beauty!'
Had to look cool and collected amoungst the gathering of the local Hartlepuddle kids, eventhough my excitement was making my legs start to dance. lol
I must say that I look at the tides everyday, checking to see if I have a spare couple of hours and my partners face to see if 'I'm allowed' to 'Go fishing'.
For whatever reason, fishing is absolutely addictive. Felt rather guilty gutting and eating my first fish 'the whiting', I'm sure that stops over time.
Love the sport though.
Sometimes you can go down and fish are catching all around you but you just cant seem to connect, you start questioning your rigs, bait how far to cast etc, generally though its got nothing to do with what you are using its just down to luck on the day, although it does help to have some good quality baits with you.......With regard to her indoors, brownie points is the answer, earn as many brownie points as possible by doing tasks around the house etc, also learn how to tell whopping great lies to get out fishing, please note a straight face must be kept when telling the said lie, there may be times when you get home late after being out 3 nights running and the missus wont speak to you, this is perfectly normal, its called LEFT AT HOME SYNDROME...it does wear off after a couple of days......hope this makes it all clear mate
