i find that when its resting on the knot or a bead then the knot it does less damage as its pushing the knot ( depending on type ) tighter

i do it this way because i dont find a 70 to 90 lb  hook length any good for bait presentation where as with 15 to 25 lb line it moves in  a more natural way especially when using avocart  :HPY2:
