if using above lead as descibed and using a fixed paternoster rig how does the hook release after cast . pulley rig i can understand but not paternoster rig.

Had the same prob as you john , i use an imp behind the namix and it hasnt let me down , i think the other lads are thinking about the breakaway impact lead which comes in different colours but its only to show the weight of the lead ie red 6ounce ,yellow 150 gram , if using these with a paternoster make sure the hook length is under tension when putting it in the bait clip or you will have probs , on closer inspection there is 4 grooves incorpaated under the plastic release system  in the lead on the sinker allowing it to float upwards when in the water relleasing the hook and bait
